Nature and wildlife. it's so beautiful and abundant here in UQ. you have large areas of green green grass to relax... so serene. and also birds, lizards and lakes, especially birds, there are just so many.
but then again, this is not always a good thing. i just had a minor incident today.
school was only 9am to 10am today. so after 10, i went to meet my partner for presentation to discuss about how we should do it. and so i made my way to the biological sciences library, and on my way, cut across this very large field. i was admiring the nice architecture of the Law buildings, soaking up the warm sun as i walked, and then i heard this piercing shriek sound. so i saw this bird, sitting on the grass not far from where i was, calling out to what seemed like it's partner; which was approaching from my front. and hey... i thought they were such nice birds. until as i walked nearer, the one that was sitting on the ground stood up and ran away. at this moment, i noticed a nest with 4 eggs.

Cute... Just as i saw the eggs, the other bird which was approaching me suddenly swooped past me in close proximity. so i suppose the one which was sitting on the eggs was the female, and the other one was the male. and the female was calling out for the male to protect her, as she felt that she had a certain danger, which was me, approaching her. she was just trying to protect her eggs. now, that's a good thing. but. but as i continued walking and minding my own business, the male bird came on me again and hit me from behind as i was already walking away.
the attacker

now, this is not sportsmanship. you do not hit someone from behind. thou we may be different species, but the rules of the game are the same. Never hit someone from behind. but being the gracious me, i took it like a man, and walked off. they were slightly lucky i was in a good mood today. if not, they could have ended up like the picture below.
