If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

Hog's Breath!

went to catch City of Ember today with a friend. a simple show, not bad. but before that, we had dinner at Hog's Breath, something i have always wanted to try. i was not disappointed. we ordered a MEGA CUT Hickory Smoked Prime Rib Steak and a Calamari Salad. this is the BEST steak i ever had all the while i was here, only second to Lawry's the Prime Ribs. i ordered it medium, and it was cooked to perfection. the steak was about 1.5 or 2 inch thick, with a very very great tasting Tex-Mex BBQ sauce. the marbling of the fats made the steak super succulent, and the outside was seared to a nice slightly burnt texture. i would highly recommend you guys to go try it out, although i wouldn't vouch for the quality they have it in Singapore but it should be good. it was worth all 30 plus dollars. the calamari salad was typical. the sotong rings looked like they shrunk terribly when it was frying in the oil.

Fried Ice Cream and Chocolates

it was coincidental when i met my housemates at the malaysian restaurant while i was having dinner there on Monday night. after my order came, i saw them approach the same restaurant to have dinner, and so i joined them. but the best thing that happen that night was from Adeline and Bhupi's mum.

gotta give credit to Adeline. what you see here is fried ice cream made by her. maybe you would think that it doesn't look like much. but i tell you, it tastes totally great and delicious. best when i had it with a drizzle of Kahlua. absolutely sinful!

and then this was given to me by Bhupi's mum. she's here together with Bhupi's sister to attend Bhupi's graduation. they're all leaving for Singapore on Tuesday morning, and so she gave all of us these nice boxes of chocolates as appreciation. she's such a sweet and loving mum. thank you!
